Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Corridor 2 Road Investment Program (Tranche 1)

Need to improve access of local communities to the project road. This was noted by the PCR mission in its foray to the local communities. The secondary roads connecting local communities to A380 were not rebuilt to provide better and safe access to the main roadway. The provision for cattle crossings would have further enhanced road safety and should have been considered in the road design. These weaknesses could have been avoided had the community been engaged through public consultations, and local needs and requirements of the communities in the project area considered during th e road design stage at the earliest.
