Strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training Project

Introduction of competency-based training and modular training program are effective methodologies as they use hands on practice rather than abstract learning. It helped students to obtain jobs in the formal sector, and enable others to become self-employed. The project, through the CBT, expanded 15 opportunities for young students, particularly in underserved areas and access to skill training programs offering official certification corresponding to their education level and financial capacity. As a result, the CBT approach has been adopted in several projects funded by bilateral donors and scaled-up in ADB’s ongoing TVET project.
