Conservation of Forest Genetic Resources

Even when TA activities have a highly technical focus, finding ways to engage non-technical stakeholders can result in additional synergies and benefits. The TA activity included capacity development activities for forest managers relating to the management of forest genetic resources, including seed stand identification, seed collection, processing and storage. However, during the training sessions held in the field areas, the TA team included local community stakeholders in the training activities, which had benefits for local livelihoods and the sustainability of the training outcomes.
