Objections by affected persons against development projects such as the construction of transmission lines can be reduced if the laws and procedures relevant to the project are communicated to stakeholders at an early stage through consultations and public information dissemination. Despite receiving a court order in favor of the process followed, delays caused by such objections and legal challenges can have significant costs and other implications, making early resolution of issues a key priority. At the same time, the project design should include contingency plans and slack time to reduce the overall impact of such issues.
