The CPRO was a highly effective pandemic response and reform program, which ADB can build upon to help accelerate the structural reform process it has been supporting in Georgia. The CPRO provided Georgia with a useful and effective tool in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic. It was prepared with unprecedented speed and supported the priorities identified by the government in its COVID-19 response program. Moreover, it included a number of gender-specific targets in its performance indicators and built on ongoing and planned structural reforms particularly to ensure that these reforms remain on track. Given its success, CPRO has provided ADB with an effective platform for accelerating the reform process it has helped advance in Georgia. In the aftermath of COVID-19, ADB can now focus its technical assistance, project investments, and policy-based lending on intensifying the pace of economic diversification in the country.
