Promoting Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment (Phase 2)

A follow-on TA with a similar structure (R-CDTA 9660) was approved in late 2018 to continue with gender operational support and innovation to support the implementation of the new Gender Operational Plan. In addition, other proposals have been prepared for continued support to some of the subprojects (e.g., FCFWI Tbilisi and Bandung) from funds available from the ADB Governance and Urban sector and thematic groups. Given that there has been no appetite by traditional gender donors for a gender trust fund such as GDCF, it is essential that the ADB gender team continues to prepare solid gender project financing proposals and market them to a range of partners, including the nontraditional ones (such as private foundations), as well as sector and thematic trust funds available at ADB and the Asian Development Fund grant windows.
