Sex-disaggregated data need to be accurate and usable for in-depth analyses to support policy development and program planning and implementation. The government has increased its focus on gender equality and has made significant progress on gender data tracking and transparency. Although there are a few publicly available national resources, they lack qualitative information. Sex-disaggregated data on most of the targets in the design and monitoring framework andthe gender monitoring matrix are not available through published primary sources of information, the annual reports of government entities, or government websites. This creates challenges in terms of gathering accurate sex-disaggregated data to understand differences in access to and impact of COVID-19 response measures on men and women as well as to enable better understanding of and measures to address uneven economic recovery.
