A high degree of project readiness during appraisal and before commencement help ensure the timely completion of projects. High project readiness, mainly in having a well-prepared and detailed project report, the award of four contracts out of nine proposed, the availability of adequate project lands, and advanced preconstruction activities, greatly facilitated the project's timely completion. It also enabled sufficient time to address any performance issues of the contractors and consultants, faster and efficient loan utilization, lower financing cost to the borrower, and timely availability of improved road assets.
