Support for Implementing the Action Plan for Transport and Trade Facilitation in the Greater Mekong Subregion (Subprojects 1 and 2)

Partnership is important particularly in TTF, where many development partners have bilateral cooperation with the countries focused on national level implementation. There is a need to make sure coordinated support is provided to ensure consistency and effectiveness with broader multilateral (World Trade Organization and World Customs Organization) and regional (ASEAN) initiatives. Where co-financing is secured, close coordination of the co-financier’s bilateral cooperation needs to be ensured. The Government of Australia has been a long-standing partner of GMS TTF since early inception of CBTA and also fully funded the Cluster RETA. In implementing the RETA activities, close coordination with Government of Australia, bilateral support in GMS countries, as well as at ASEAN level, was observed. ADB and the Government of Australia also co-chaired two GMS TTF Development Partners (DPs) Meetings where coordination and complementarities of DP programs were discussed to ensure synergy and maximize effectiveness.
