The dissemination of knowledge products was inadequate under this TA project. The inventory of solar PV mini-grid and rooftop PV was not used in future project development. The TA could have included identification of solar irrigation pump sites and thus could benefit the SREP grant of $22.442 million approved in July 2017 as an additional financing to Power System Efficiency Improvement Project executed by Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board that plans to install 2,000 solar-driven irrigation pumps.

The GEP methodology will still need to be continuously improved for existing pilot sites to see how GEP accounting could be improved. GEP might be instrumental in evaluating the performance of eco-compensation programs but more studies are needed to fine tune the indicator. Surveys of beneficiary perceptions of the quality of outputs (such as plans, reports, workshops, training, and other communications) should be included in the design of the TA project. It is difficult to say much about the quality of outputs and their potential contribution to targeted outcomes without such feedback. The development of easily accessible awareness-raising materials targeting decision makers in other river basins who are involved or interested in IWRM and RBO activities is a useful alternative to highly technical publications.
